Ads: Idea Vs Dainik Bhaskar

From quit a few days I have been seeing a lot of Yellow Abhishek Bachchan presence on a lot of sites because of a bit aggressive IDEA ad campaign talking about educating kids across the country thought phones with their speaker on, which they believe are loud enough to take a class under a big banyan tree! Now it is for us to assume that there is a good network coverage of IDEA in each of these villages where probably even BSNL would fails to reach. Makes Sense!?

Off late the other ad that talks about making a difference to our society is Dainik Bhaskar’s “Zidd Karo” ad, where one can see Dhoni pleading everyone to be stubborn. Zidd Karo Duniya Badlo is the slogan. But does Zidd Karo makes sense for Dainik Bhaskar?? Whatever it is, Dhoni definately makes more sense than Abhishek.

The IDEA ad seems to be more idealistic than the Zidd Karo ad. Dont know if Abhishek was a good “idea” for IDEA. Heard that IDEA is not gonna renew the contract with him – now this is definately a good IDEA.

The reason for the comparison of these two ads is that both of them are trying to establish an emotional bond with the public to sell their product and to establish their brand image as “The Brand that Cares.” Now do they really mean what they speak is something I would not want to comment on.

Will IDEA and Dainik Bhaskar succeed in winning the heats of the masses or the masses are rational enough to understand that such ads are nothing but a part of their markiting stratergy?
